July 23, 2024 — Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, Department of Economic & Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Howmet Aerospace Inc. officials announced the company is expanding its Morristown, TN location.
“It’s great to see companies already in Tennessee continuing to invest in our communities. I frequently say the state with the greatest workforce will be the state that wins the future, and this expansion helps us accomplish that. Howmet Aerospace is creating an additional 50 high-quality jobs for the families across this region, and I look forward to their continued success in Morristown,” Gov. Bill Lee said.
The announcement came in conjunction with the Farnborough International Airshow, which kicked off Monday in the United Kingdom, to the Southwest of London.
Morristown Mayor Gary Chesney, Hamblen County Mayor Bill Brittain and Industrial Development Board of the City of Morristown Chairman R. Jack Fishman issued a joint statement. “Here we grow again! This is the latest in the long line of industrial growth success stories in Morristown,” they said. “Since 1986, Howmet Aerospace has been an integral part of this community’s industrial base, providing high-quality jobs for our area’s citizens. The diversity of categories in production here makes Morristown and Hamblen County attractive sites for steady progress as well as desirable job opportunities for our community’s workforce. Well done, Howmet Aerospace, and congratulations on a bright future.”
With the Morristown expansion, the company will create 50 new jobs and invest an additional $27.9 million in Tennessee. “Our partners in Morristown and the broader East Tennessee community have played an integral role in the success of Howmet Aerospace’s Morristown operations,” Merrick Murphy, president of engine products said. “We’re so very proud of these longstanding relationships that have enabled us to grow and prosper over the past several decades.” He went on to say “Howmet Aerospace is grateful for the support of our state, local and regional partners who have been consistent and longstanding advocates for each investment we’ve made in this community.”
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Howmet Aerospace has locations in 13 different countries around the globe and 15 states in the U.S.
