January 26, 2021 – One doesn’t have to look far to see a success story. BlueStone Label, one of Morristown’s best-kept industrial secrets, celebrated its success with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, January 21st at their plant on North High Street across from Morristown Ford.
The label, vinyl and more printing company was originally located in Bristol and began operations in 1986. The Blankenship family ran the company for 20 years before selling the company upon retirement. Brad Shuff and Steve Henrikson bought the company and ran it in Bristol for several years before they outgrew their 13,000 square foot facilty in Sullivan County.
Co-owner Brad Shuff said that the flexo printing process has allowed the company to grow. “We have 22,000 square feet here, plus another 10,000 square feet out back,” Shuff said. “We bought another company in the Charlotte, North Carolina area and we moved them together to Morristown.”
The company has 14 employees now with room for expansion. “We’ve got a really good culture and we’re trying to build nice jobs for people to feel secure about,” Shuff said.
BlueStone is in the process of acquiring a Texas company to move to Morristown as well. Henrikson is the chief financial backer of the company and has allowed the purchase of modern equipment.
