Morristown has been recognized in several categories of Southern Business & Development magazine’s The Best of Economic Development in the American South in the state of Tennessee.
Members of the Southern Economic Development Roundtable were polled to come up with the best of 30 economic development categories in each Southern state. SEDR is a group of economic developers, educators, economists, site consultants and CEOs in the South that meet once a year. The meeting is an opportunity for 50 of the South’s best economic development minds to discuss issues relative to economic development in the American South.
There are 30 categories for each Southern state. Morristown was acknowledged in the following categories:
- Best Tier One Auto Supplier Sites in Tennessee
- Tennessee’s Best Community Colleges for Workforce Training – Walters State, Morristown
- Tennessee’s Best Small Market Manufacturing Workforces
- Best Small Town Industrial Sites in Tennessee – East Tennessee Progress Center, Morristown
- Best Data Center Locations in Tennessee
- Tennessee’s Best Local Economic Development Agencies – Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce
